. Since I use the 12 string Stick, there is plenty of
range on both sides do acomplish what I need. I use the 6+6 (6 lead and 6 bass) string setup. The only modification I use is tuning the lead side down 1 step for a deeper sound. Emmett has a set of strings for this tuning it is
called (matched recipricoal tuning)Since I have been playing the 12 string I really like the sound of the 345&6 strings on the melody. If you play a 10 string I reccomend using the Baritone tunning because you get a richer
sound. In Bari tuning tune all the melody strings down a fourth. Basically the 5th becomes the 4th string, the 4th becomes the 3rd and so on.
One more thing I use heavy gage strings because I think you can articulate better and
feel more solid. The one draw back is that bending requires more strength.
If you decide on the baritone tuning for your 10 string all my lessons are with standard tuning. Just move everything over one string on the melody side.
